A 65-year-old Burmese language lecturer (retired) teacher was killed in an apartment near the Kabaraye bus stop in Mayangone Township, a busy place in Rangoon, on the evening of 11 June.
June 11 At around 4 pm, Mayangone Township, 9 ward, Kabaraye Pagoda Road, Thanlyin A man from Block 301 / Khan returned to his home from outside and asked for help as the door was open and the apartment was cluttered. Two children drowned while swimming in a creek in Wet Tae village, Mudon Township on June 11 at around 2:30 pm, according to locals.
The two children who drowned were 9-year-old Min Plai Kye from Kaw Kha Loi village and 9-year-old Min Aung Mon from Wet Tae village. The two drowned while swimming in a stream near Min Aung Mon’s home, a local said.
“The two children are said to be cousins. Now, when it is raining, the canals are full of water. I do not know how deep it is. It is very dangerous for children to swim without guardians, ”said a local.
On the evening of June 7, 11-year-old Min Sai Chan, a resident of Land No. 8 in Zin Kyaik Township, Paung Township, Mon State, drowned while swimming in a ditch near the railway line.
The bodies of Min Plai Kye and Min Aung Mon were taken to Mudon Township People’s Hospital by ambulances from Thukha Metta Emergency Relief Team and Metta Mon Emergency Relief Team.
The Mayangone City Police Station is investigating the incident and is working to arrest the perpetrator.
