Two BBS students charged under Section 505 (b) of the Rakhine War and Civil War Sticker Campaign have been arrested at a monastery in Paungde, Bago Region (West).

The two students, Ko Kyaw Ye Thu and Ko Htet Aung, were arrested at around 1:30 pm on September 28 by the local police chief, lieutenant colonel and group leaders.

“When I first came, I was in charge of the territory. No worries. The next time, the children said they were ready to go. He came again. I also checked the rest with Warang. Then he took the children. This case is worse than the coronavirus. War is not good. They died in a pot and a half. They have no place to live. So we are talking about stopping the war. I am against the war. It is also against AA. It is the same with opposing the military. We do not support the AA against the Tatmadaw. We do not support the military or oppose the AA. That’s what both sides want to say. From the beginning of Kovis, these children have been handing out handouts, pamphlets, and stickers to remote mountainous areas and borders. Donated PPE uniforms were also donated to major hospitals. Other cities also donated. I think it is too much for me to put up a sticker under Section 505 (b) in this regard, ”said the abbot.

The two current students are being held at the Paungde Township Police Station and arrested on September 29.
