There were (29) new positive patients related to the Covid-19 epidemic in Mon State last January. According to the State Department of Public Health and Treatment, there were only two (2) local infections.
The two (2) new positive patients found in Mon State are from Thathon Township and Ye Township. The rest of the new positive patients (27) were found in people who returned from Thailand.
Currently, there are no local infections related to the Covid-19 epidemic in Mon State. It is found only in those who re-entered through the border of Thailand. Dr. Nanda Win, head of the Mon State Public Health and Treatment Department, said that the new positive patients are also being quarantined and treated continuously, and there is no cluster found among those who have re-entered through the border.
“There are local infections, Neither hospitals nor Public health centers are conducting continuous monitoring tests. If a positive patient is found, we are ready to provide treatment strictly according to the Covid process,” Dr. Nanda Win continued.
From February 1st to 11th, there were no local infections related to the Covid-19 epidemic in Mon State. According to the Ministry of Health, five (5) of those who returned from Thailand have tested positive for Covid-19.
Last year (2022), there were (5,193) new positive patients related to the Covid-19 epidemic in Mon State, and 83 (83) laboratory confirmed patients died, according to the State Department of Public Health and Treatment.
