SNLD Chairman Khun Tun Oo has resigned from his post
Khun Tun Oo, chairman of the Shan Nationalities League for Democracy (SNLD), has resigned from his post as chairman of the old age and tradition of passing on responsibilities to the youth, according to SNLD General Secretary Sai Leik.
“There are three reasons. The first is that old age is not good for your health. The second factor is family matters. He seemed worried that he would not be able to give time to the party. Third, according to him, he wants to pass on the task to the younger generation. He wants to adopt that tradition. I am resigning for these three reasons. We are not ready to decide yet. It will remain the same. SNLD General Secretary Sai Leik said.
Khun Tun Oo said he would step down as party chairman today (September 27), according to a report in the 7 Day newspaper, which was an expression of his will.
Until now, Khun Tun Oo is still the chairman of the Shan Nationalities League for Democracy (SNLD), said Sai Leik.
“It is the chairman’s wish to resign,” he said. But the UEC is not ready to accept that. Then we have the Central Executive Committee. This is a matter for the Central Committee members to discuss. As such talks have not yet taken place, he will remain in the chairmanship for the time being. It is his proposal. It is an expression of his will, ”said Sai Leik.
